According to an unauthorized new tell all book titled
Becoming Beyoncé; The untold story, released by celebrity journalist J. Randy
Taraborelli, Beyoncé and Jay-z had secretly broken up three years prior to their
wedding in 2008.
The book goes on to reveal that queen Bey wanted to focus on
her career and her husband was feeling neglected. Eventually the couple agreed
to take a break from the relationship.
It was during the supposed one-year break that Jay-z is
alleged to have had an affair with his protégé 27-year-old Rihanna. It was also
during this time that Jay-z signed Rihanna to his label Def Jam.
According to Taraborelli there’s a good chance that Jay-z,
45, never hooked-up with then 17-year old Riri.
A former member of Riri’s camp confessed they made up the
claims in order to help Rihanna get more exposure as a pop star and boost her
profile for her forthcoming album Pon De Replay.
The alleged gossip didn’t go down well with Bey, the author
claims she believed the rumors and ended up having trust issues with Jay-z. The
power couple who had been taking a secret break to focus on their careers.
However, Jay-z has always denied having a relationship with
the Pon De Replay singer. Rihanna also termed the rumors as ‘disgusting’.
Taraborelli reveals that although the couple reunited in
2006 and went on to tie the knot in 2008 and had a daughter Blue Ivy in 2012, Beyoncé,
34, never really got over the Rihanna scandal.
The author goes on to address the infamous elevator bust-up
in May 2014, when 29-year old Solange launched herself at Jay-z while leaving
the Met Gala at New York’s standard hotel.
It all supposedly started because Jay-z wanted to go to a
party hosted by Rihanna at the Met Gala.
“Why can’t you go home?” Solange is reported to have said.
This prompted the rapper to tell her to mind her business,
according to Taraborelli, Solange flew into a fury and attacked him when the
elevator door closed.
While the couple have never commented about what happened
during the incident, they will did release a statement saying they’d moved on
from it.
