Mugo Wa Wairimu will not be charged with rape.

Police have indicated that there is no sufficient evidence to charge the fake gynaecologist, Mugo wa Wairimu with rape. 

The unlicensed 'doctor' will not be charged with rape for lack of forensic and witness statements evidence. 

According to police who have already concluded investigations into the matter, only one woman recorded a statement with the Criminal Investigative Department.

Lack of forensic evidence, such as semen and DNA Mugo wa Wairimu will be charged with running an illegal medical laboratory and indecent assault.

Wairimu who went into hiding after an expose by Citizen TV was arrested on September 10 at a Limuru hotel having breakfast.

The supposed rape victims who spoke to Citizen TV during the expose did not record statements.

Head of investigations at the Serious Crimes Unit John Kariuki, appealed to the public to come forward with any evidence against the phony doctor.

“Please come forward so we can get the evidence required in law. We risk having no evidence to charge the suspect in court."

 The unregistered doctor is set to appear in court on Friday to face charges.
