Kenya Suspends CNN Deal Over "Hotbed Of Terror" Tag

The state agency that markets the country’s attractions signed off the multi-million shilling marketing deal with Cable News Network following a case of bad publicity by the American channel.
“Some narrative adverts were running on CNN as we planned the launch of above-the-line TV campaigns with them but we suspended all of that," CEO Muriithi Ndegwa said.
The “Hotbed of Terror” sparked anger among Kenyans after CNN aired it in a show days prior to Obama’s visit to Kenya.
Kenyans took to social media under the hash tag #SomeOneTellCNN to express their anger.

Kenya Tourist Board is seeking alternatives to market the country’s tourist attractions and boost ailing sector.
