Kemboi leads Kenyan clean sweep.

Gold medals for Vivian Cheruiyot and Ezekiel Kemboi have taken Kenya to the top of the medals table after the third day of action at the World Athletics Championships in China.

Kenya secured their first clean sweep in the 3,000 metres steeplechase for eight years but the anticipated challenge from Evan Jager faded on the final lap as the American was unable to match the speed of the Kenyans and trailed home sixth.

Kemboi, who clocked eight minutes 11.28 seconds, added the title to those he won in 2009, 2011 and 2013 and to the Olympic gold he landed in 2004 and 2012.

There were also medals today for Conseslus Kipruto (silver) and Brimin Kipruto (bronze) in the men's 3,000 metres steeple chase.

Their other medals came on Saturday as Geoffrey Kamworor (silver) and Paul Tanui (bronze) finished behind Mo Farah in the 10,000 metres.
