JEHOVAH WANYONYI IS DEAD

According to a local leader the self-proclaimed God succumbed to illness on 18^th July on his way to Cheranganyi Nursing Home in Kitale town.

One of the hospital’s morgue attendant, said Michael Mumboi had died and his body taken by a group of five relatives on 19^th

He said that people at the hospital were shocked and watched as the body was taken away for burial by the family.

Though the family of Michael Mumboi alias Jehovah Wanyonyi who mysteriously disappeared from his home in Kakamega County two weeks ago insist that he is still alive, the local chief, Daniel Busienei, confirmed the news of his death.

He said the spiritual leader’s children sought after a burial permit on 19^th July, after the hospital required it before releasing the body.

“I told my assistant chief to issue them with a permit to allow the deceased family to lay him to rest,” he said.

Assistant chief Paul Bett confirmed that he gave the family the burial permit a day after Wanyonyi death.

Wanyonyi who has not been seen in public for six weeks developed back problems four years ago.

He had been confined to a wheelchair at the home, where his followers say he has 70 wives, 500 children and more than 1,000 grandchildren.
