Corruption creeps back in the corridors of justice

The Kenyan Judiciary is at a crossroads following stunning revelations of massive corruption in the Judicial Service Commission.
Speaking in Mombasa at the annual colloquium, Mutunga complained that some judges and magistrates were against changes.
“The radical surgery and vetting exercises were traumatizing experiences for most of the judges. But if we do not take a personal and professional stand against this vice (bribe) then I can assure you the vetting exercise will be back-and this time in a more vicious form than the previous one,” Mutunga is quoted by the standard
Mutunga also noted that corruption had crept back in the corridors of justice even though the system advocates for justice.
According to a reliable source, some individuals are fighting the much anticipated reforms that would ensure justice prevails.
A close source revealed that the judiciary is taking too long to handle gross misconduct and the workload in courts bars prompt ruling.
