Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have decided to part ways
after 13 years of marriage. The couple have three sons: together 9 year old
Kingston, 6 year old Zuma and 17-month old Apollo.
The two met when Gwen's band, No
Doubt, toured as the opening act for Gavin's group, Bush, back in 1995 and dated
for six years before tying the knot in London in 2002. Two weeks later the
couple wedded again in Los Angeles.
“While the two of us have come to a
mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain
partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our sons in a happy
and healthy environment.” They said in a joint statement.
The No doubt star cited
irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split and is asking for
joint custody of their three kids, according to PEOPLE.
In February, Gwen, 45, opened up to
cosmopolitan “we go through so much together- -it’s a miracle that we could
stay together this long.”
Two years in their marriage,
Rossdale soon learned that he was the father to then 14-year old Daisy Lowe
from a previous relationship with British designer and former singer Pearl
Lowe.
Gwen is worth a reported $80
million while Gavin, 49, is thought to be worth $35 million. The two are said
to have no pre-nup in place.
Rossdale who will be repped by
disso-queen Laura Wasser filed for his response at the same time and he’s also
asking for joint custody. Stefani is being represented by Scott Weston.
