Musalia Mudavadi calls for more details to be revealed about the sugar deal

The Amani national congress (ANC) Musalia Mudavadi has thrown his weight behind the opposition leaders in calling for more details regarding the sugar deal to be revealed to the public.

The deal signed by president Uhuru Kenyatta and his counterpart President Yoweri Museveni will see Uganda export sugar to Kenya.
In June, 2015 president Uhuru toured the region. He gave the management KSh 1 billion bailout to pay farmers. The once leading sugar millers’ factory not only in Kenya but also across East-Africa region is still grappling.

The ANC leader told citizen TV that the government should tell Kenyans details about the sugar deal.

“Let the government make the details of the pact public. Let us know what was promised and if it is executable. Politicians should not go around trading barbs in public over the sugar deal.
The public is very discerning, they know which leaders are being truthful and those who are not. All we need is clarity on the sugar deal, then we can focus on the things that really matter,” Mudavadi said.
