On Tuesday, A General Service Unit lorry
carrying 100 Ethiopian immigrants was intercepted in Kangeta, Meru County.
The immigrants are said to have been
ferried from the Ethiopian border through Moyale and Meru counties using
off-road routes.
The Ethiopians were given directions by a Kenyan
man who acted as a guide showing them which routes to follow to avoid being
detected.
The lorry was taken to Kangeta police
station after being intercepted by police who were acting on a tip off.
After being on the road for three days the
Ethiopian immigrants looked exhausted. All those arrested were men.
