Pastor Ng'ang'a to spend night in police cell

The long arm of the law has finally caught up with the controversial pastor of Neno Evangelism Centre who will spend the night in a cell.

Pastor Ng'ang'a was arrested today at Java Milimani and taken to the traffic headquarters where he recorded a statement.

His arrest comes roughly three weeks after Ng'ang'a's Range Rover was involved in accident in which a woman, Mercy Njeri died, while her husband survived with multiple injuries.

His lawyers Ombeta and Assa Nyakundi had moved to court with an urgent application seeking to block his prosecution.

Ng'ang'a will be charged with failing to report an accident and giving police officers false information.

In a statement to newsrooms, the DPP said Simon Kuria, who presented himself as the driver of the Range Rover, will also be charged with conspiring against justice.

The two officers at Tigoni Police station who tried to cover up his involvement will also face charges of conspiring against justice.
