The body of the late Geoffrey Oriario was
found Wednesday morning in a swimming pool at Beach Seafront Chalet Hotel.
The lawyer’s body was discovered by a pool
attendant at 4.30am. According to a close family member who did not want to be named
due to the sensitivity of the matter, the body was taken to Pandya Memorial
Hospital where health practitioners are expected to conduct a post-mortem
examination.
Mr. Oriario is well known for the role he
played in the removal of Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) chairman
Mumo Matemu and his deputy, Irene Keino. He argued that the two were incapable
of leading the war against graft.
