Karim who schools at Mwororo Mixed
secondary school in Taita Taveta was shot on the chest by a gang that was
escaping the wrath of angry residents on foot.
The gang had attempted to rob a cyber cafe
along Mayuyu road and escaped after an alarm was raised. This prompted the mob
to start chasing them.
“In the process, the gang opened fire,
shooting the student in the chest. The gang managed to escape on foot and
efforts to trace them are ongoing,” said Starehe police boss Bernard Nyakwaka.
The student identified as Aden Abdi Karim
succumbed to injuries on arrival at the nearby medina hospital.
